FAQs

We welcome enquires by phone or email. Whatever you want to know just ask. Below are the most common questions we get.

What size unit do I need?

It is surprising what can be stored in our units with careful packing. If you are moving house and storing furniture you’ll almost certainly need a 20 foot unit. For a larger house you’ll probably need two. Feel free to call by and step inside a unit to get a feel for things.

Can I store whatever I want?

Yes, within reason. We ask that you do not store anything illegal or highly flammable such as petrol or fireworks. A lawnmower with petrol in the tank is ok though.

When can I access my unit?

Our sites are open seven days per week with hours approximately 8am to 7pm. If you need access outside of these times on the odd occasion, please speak to us and we will do our best to help.

Do I need a lock?

We will supply you a padlock when you move in. When you leave please return it to us along with all the keys.

What’s the access like? What size vehicle can I use?

All our units can be accessed directly by a 3.5 tonne Luton van. Larger vehicles may need to be unloaded at the end of the row. Please note that you generally cannot reverse a tail-lift into the units or drive a vehicle inside. We do have a small number of containers suitable for storing vehicles.

How do I pay?

Payment is required monthly in advance and can be made by bank transfer, by card over the phone and by cash or card in person at our Hadnock Road office.

What is your shortest hire period?

We accept hires for any length of time but charge a minimum hire of one month.

I will be away for a long time. Can I get a discount?

We offer two options. You can pay for a block of twelve months or more up front for a small discount. In addition, you can get a double stacked unit which is cheaper but is not accessible until the end of the hire period when we will lift it back down for you.

How secure are your units?

Our units are about as secure as one can get within reason. Padlocks are protected by a thick steel security box. Our sites have security fencing and CCTV. If you have any concerns, please speak to us.

What’s the deal with the insulated roofs?

Insulating the roofs is essential in our view to ensuring a container is suitable for storing household belongings. It keeps out the worst of the heat in summer and, more importantly, prevents condensation forming on the roofs in the cold which can then drip on your things.

How do I rent a unit?

Easily. Just give us a call and tell us what you need. We’ll take the first month’s payment by card as a deposit to secure the booking and then arrange to meet you on site and show you how it all works.
